Pests are a natural part of our environment. Preventing them completely may seem impossible. Definition of Natural & Chemical Pesticides

Pesticides are substances that are used to destroy, suppress or even alter the life cycle of pests. There are two ways to deliver a pesticide. One way is naturally and the other is synthetically. There are some pesticides that are also an organism, but those types of pesticides are mostly used on crops and agriculture. There are several types of pesticides which include bactericides, herbicides, baits, lures, insecticides, rodenticides and repellents that are used for commercial and residential environments. 
 

Types of Pesticides & Their Uses

Baits – Baits is a ready to use eatable pesticide or poison that lure pests such as insects, rodents and even some mollusk species such as snails and slugs. Bait is good for constant pest intrusion that that may be hard to find or eradicate with just pesticide sprays.
Insecticides – An insecticide is a pesticide that is designed to destroy, suppress, and prevent a major infestation of insects. Insecticides are used to control pests such as garden pests; cockroaches, spiders, and other insects that commonly invade residential and commercial buildings. Insecticides are applied with sprays, dust or powder and in gelatin forms.         
Lures – Lures are a chemical that attracts pests to a pesticide which destroys the pest. An example of a lure is imitation cheese that lure pests to a trap that either destroys or do live captures of pests. Most commonly, lures are used for rodents.   
Rodenticides – Rodenticides are a chemical that is designed to control or destroy rodent pests such as mice and rats. 
Repellants – This form of pesticide is used to repel instead of destroy pests. Most repellants are designed to repel biting or stinging insect such as mosquitoes, ticks, flies and even some bees and wasps. 
Natural Pesticides – An off shoot form of pesticide that is used more as a deterrent for some pests. Natural pesticides such as lavender, garlic, tea tree oil, and diatomaceous earth are natural forms that help repel pests. Some natural pesticides like the diatomaceous earth- can even kill insects that come in contact with it.
